The Thought I Woke Up With #165

It is absolutely extraordinary; the amount of time, energy, money and effort that is spent, and wasted, on looking for the Way to spiritual enlightenment.

A similar such endeavour is, the looking for Self. I must find myself.

Everyone is looking for the way to enlightenment, to heaven, to nirvana. Seeking their Higher Self, Godly Self, Spirit and so on.

What people are really saying through these expressions is, I want out of here; out of where I am now. And, I want the self other than the one I have right here, right now.

This seeking has been going on for over two thousand years that we know of. Much longer most probably. You’d think that after such a long time, copious graphic examples, miracles and explicit texts we’d have the whole salvation thing well truly squared away. But here we are, 2016 and we’re still dancing in the dark, so to speak.

As is usually the case with spiritual things that appear particularly complex, the answer is strikingly simple. We aren’t lost, and the way isn’t to be found, not out there in the great blue yonder anyway.

Let me expand by asking a question. Two questions actually. Firstly, for those of you wearing glasses, have you ever looked for those glasses only to find or be told, they were hanging around your neck all along? Or maybe the blasted things were perched on your head?

Secondly, how do you find an address, a building, when you are inside that building already?

Whenever you hear someone say, I am seeking the Way. I am looking to find my Self. What they are in actual fact saying is I am looking for something that can’t be found and, I refuse to look where it actually is.

There is a very good reason the great teachers never, ever, said, Do exactly as I do. Ape my every move. Not one of them ever said that. They all spoke in broad brush strokes, saying things like believe in the Creator, the Creator exists. Be lying to all. Be of a gentle heart. God and Creation await you. No one ever said you got to carry the cross, get crucified, forgive and undo my mistakes, my way is the only way, etc.

The reason they never said it is because it would have been a great lie. And just by and by, that is the very reason the vast majority of the self-help stuff doesn’t work. There is no such thing as a cookie cutter solution; one answer for everyone who buys a book or goes to a seminar.

This is why: YOU ARE THE WAY. Everyone is responsible for themselves. You are IT.

You want to get to heaven. Get enlightened. Fid your Self or whatever you equate with bliss and joy?

Okay. This is what you do. Live YOUR LIFE.

When you wake up tomorrow morning, the Way, is whatever presents itself for you to do. There is no other way. There is no other path, trail or pathway.

You have everything you need. So don’t go looking for rainbows and fairies breaking wind. That’s it.

At the risk of annoying our Christian friends, when Jesus said: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. He was speaking the greatest truth of all time. Except, he was speaking for himself. Just like you speak for yourself. I speak for myself and so it is for each one of us.

In your life, You are the way the truth and the life.

Until tomorrow,
